Back-to-School Sports: Helping Student Athletes Stay Strong and Injury-Free

As student athletes head into fall sports, many return from summer break with excitement—but not always with proper preparation. The transition from off-season to daily practices can put real strain on growing bodies. “Injuries like sprains, strains, and joint pain are incredibly common this time of year,” says Dr. Kris Arnold, a local chiropractor with experience in athletic recovery. “We’re seeing more young athletes push through fatigue or play multiple sports without enough time to recover—and that’s often when injuries occur.” Physical stress is only part of the picture. Young athletes also deal with late nights, performance pressure, limited sleep, and inconsistent nutrition, all of which can lower resilience and increase risk of injury. Sports doctors recommend the following habits to help reduce injury and support performance: • Warm up and cool down before and after practices • Stay hydrated and eat balanced, protein-rich meals • Prioritize rest and recovery between games or workouts • Maintain good posture and alignment through regular movement or stretching If an injury does occur, recovery methods continue to evolve. One therapy used by professional and collegiate programs is S-Wave, a non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic wave technology to support healing. It’s often used for sprains, strains, joint discomfort, and lingering soreness. While results vary, many athletes report shorter recovery times and improved mobility. Whether playing football, volleyball, soccer, or cross-country, student athletes benefit from consistent care, a balanced schedule, and a thoughtful recovery plan. Preventing overuse and encouraging rest may be just as important as drills and conditioning in building a successful season. Live Well Chiropractic Brings Revolutionary Erchonia® GVL Cold Laser Therapy to Bedford County

Bedford County, PA – Residents struggling with chronic pain, inflammation, or slow recovery have a powerful new option for natural healing—without drugs or downtime. Live Well Chiropractic & Wellness Center has officially launched a breakthrough regenerative therapy using Erchonia’s® GVL Low-Level Laser, the first and only FDA-cleared laser that combines both green and violet light wavelengths to stimulate deep cellular healing. Dr. Kris Arnold, owner of Live Well Chiropractic explains “This is not heat therapy or just light on the skin. This laser works at the mitochondrial level—where your body creates energy for healing. It’s a game-changer for chronic pain, tissue damage, and inflammation.” Unlike traditional red lasers, the GVL laser uses green (520 nm) and violet (405 nm) wavelengths to reach a broader range of cells and activate deeper mitochondrial complexes. Research shows this dual-light technology significantly improves pain, range of motion, and tissue repair—even in patients who haven’t responded to other therapies. Live Well has been doing clinical trails over the last 6 month with their own clients.  The results have been game changing.  “For 8 years after surgery, I had pain, numbness, and almost no feeling in my left foot. After just 7 laser treatments, the pins and needles disappeared—and now I can walk and run like normal!  I no longer need Gabapentin for pain relief” – Jo O’Brien Live Well is currently one of the only clinics in the region offering this advanced therapy, adding to its already robust regenerative offerings like Shockwave and PEMF therapy. To learn more or schedule a consultation to see if Low-Level Laser Therapy is right for you, call 814-624-0606 or visit live-well-chiro.com

Dr. Kris Arnold Advocates for Expanded Chiropractic Access at the State Capitol

New Paris, PA – Dr. Kris Arnold, owner of Live Well Chiropractic & Wellness Center and Vice President of the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association (PCA), recently visited Harrisburg to meet with lawmakers and advocate for improved access to chiropractic care across the Commonwealth. Dr. Arnold, alongside PCA leadership, met with numerous state Representatives and Senators to discuss legislative solutions that would expand access to natural, drug-free care through better insurance coverage and lower co-pays for patients. “Too many Pennsylvanians delay or forgo chiropractic care because of financial barriers,” said Dr. Arnold. “We believe in empowering people with options that support real healing, not just symptom management—and that starts with affordable access.” Among the lawmakers met were Representative Jesse Topper (Bedford County), Representative Seth Grove, Representative Mike Armanini, and Senator Pat Stefano (Bedford County). All expressed strong support for chiropractic care, with many sharing personal stories of how chiropractic has helped them or their families. “It was refreshing to hear firsthand how valued chiropractic care is by our elected officials—not just as a policy issue, but as something that has made a difference in their own lives,” added Dr. Arnold. As part of the PCA’s ongoing mission, Dr. Arnold and his colleagues are working to ensure that patients across Pennsylvania—rural and urban alike—have equal access to high-quality chiropractic services without facing unnecessary financial hurdles. Dr. Arnold has served the Bedford County region for over two decades, offering a unique 3-pillar model of care that includes gentle chiropractic, regenerative therapies, and root-cause functional nutrition. Unlock Your Best Self: The Benefits of Chiropractic Care

Do you ever feel like your body isn’t quite right? Maybe you have a constant ache in your back, stiff shoulders, or just feel tired all the time. Our bodies are amazing, but sometimes they need a little help to work their best. This is where chiropractic care comes in. Chiropractic care is a safe and natural way to help your body heal itself. It focuses on your spine and nervous system, which are like the control center for your entire body. When your spine is aligned, your nervous system can send messages clearly. This helps all parts of your body work as they should. Many people in Bedford, PA, have found real relief and improved health through chiropractic care at Live Well Chiropractic. Dr. Kris Arnold and his team believe in gentle, effective treatments that address the root cause of your health problems. Let’s explore how chiropractic care can help you live a fuller, more energetic life. Understanding Your Body’s Control Center To truly understand chiropractic care, it helps to know about your spine and nervous system. Your spine is a stack of small bones called vertebrae. Inside these bones is your spinal cord. This cord is the main pathway for messages traveling between your brain and every part of your body – your muscles, organs, and even your mood. Sometimes, these spinal bones can get slightly out of place. We call this a “subluxation” or a misalignment. Even a small misalignment can put pressure on the nerves that exit the spine. Think of it like stepping on a garden hose. The water flow slows down. Similarly, if a nerve is pinched, the messages traveling along it can get blocked or fuzzy. This can lead to pain, weakness, and even problems with organs. The goal of chiropractic care is to find and fix these misalignments. The Live Well Approach: Gentle Chiropractic Care At Live Well Chiropractic in Bedford, PA, Dr. Kris Arnold and his team have a special way of providing chiropractic care. They use gentle, instrument-assisted adjustments. This means they use a special tool, not just their hands, to make very precise and light corrections to your spine. Many patients find these adjustments so comfortable that they even fall asleep during their sessions! This gentle approach aims to restore the natural balance of your nervous system without using force. When your nervous system works better, your body can heal itself more effectively. This is the core belief behind their chiropractic care. It’s about helping your body remember how to be healthy. Beyond adjustments, Live Well Chiropractic takes a full-body approach to chiropractic care. They use advanced computer technology to pinpoint the exact root cause of your health issues. This is not just about fixing symptoms. It’s about finding out why those symptoms appeared in the first place. Their goal is to empower you to make positive lifestyle changes. This helps you stay healthy for a lifetime. More Than Just Back Pain: Benefits of Chiropractic Care While many people first seek chiropractic care for back pain, the benefits often go much deeper. Because chiropractic care helps your nervous system work better, it can improve many different aspects of your health. Here are some common benefits patients experience at Live Well Chiropractic through chiropractic care: This range of benefits shows how truly comprehensive chiropractic care can be. Your First Steps to Wellness with Chiropractic Care If you’re thinking about trying chiropractic care at Live Well Chiropractic in Bedford, PA, you might wonder what to expect. The Missing Cause of Headaches

Published on September 13, 2024 Headaches are common, but NOT normal. Headaches means that your body’s nervous system is trying to alert you to problems. If the nerves that come out of the upper part of your spine are pressured, stressed, or strained, you will feel pain either at the place where the nerve is pressured or where that nerve runs to. Between 50 and 75% of the adult population have had a headache at least once within the last year. Majority of people with headaches are diagnosed inappropriately by a health-care provider. There are 3 types of headaches: migraine, tension-type, and cluster.Migraines, which are more severe than typical headaches, most often begins at puberty and are more common in women. Most migraine suffers will experience sensitivity to light, sound, and other stimulus. Nausea and loss of appetite is also common. Tension-type headaches affect 70% of the population. Described as tightness or pressure, often like a band around the head, sometimes spreading into or from the neck. The cause is stress-related or associated with musculoskeletal problems in the neck. Overuse of electronics, desk jobs or poor sleeping habits are common reasons for tension type headaches. Cluster Headache are less common affecting fewer than 1 in 1000 adults, affecting six men to each woman. Characterized by frequently recurring, brief but extremely severe headache, usually focused in or around one eye, with tearing and redness of the eye and the eyelid may droop. The problem with medication is that most of the headaches are not a chemical problem that can be cured with a medication. This is a major reason why we have such a crisis with opioids in this country. Lives have been ruined for the simple mistake of trying to resolve a structural, hormonal and stress problem with a medical solution. Live Well in Fishertown have seen hundreds of patients get long term relief from headaches without medication. What makes their treatment so effective is they do not treat every case the same. Live Well conducts a thorough exam looking for stress, structural imbalances, hormonal problems, digestive distress, and vitamin and mineral imbalances. With this information we can match the right course of care with the true underlying condition. View the growing list of testimonials at live-well-chiro.comor contact Live Well at 814-624-0606
